Worlds Largest Swinging Anti-Ram Vehicle Barrier receives top U.S. Department of Defense Certification Morrison Equipment’s 40-foot wide anti-ram vehicle barrier meets highest crash test standards set by the U.S. D.O.D.
( EMAILWIRE.COM, November 23, 2005 ) Adelanto, California – Morrison Equipment has announced its 40-foot wide anti-ram vehicle barrier has met the highest crash test standards set by the U.S. Department of Defense.
Morrison Equipment’s 40-foot swing gate earned the K12 L3 rating when it stopped a five ton truck, loaded to 15,000 pounds, traveling at 50 miles per hour. The rating means the vehicle was unable to penetrate past the gate. Karco Engineering LLC, an independent crash test facility in Adelanto, California, performed the test. “I believe that in the current climate of potential terrorism, and threats to equipment and property, our gates will be a front runner in property protection,” said Morrison Equipment founder and President Joel Morrison. “We manufacture a quality product, with quality materials and industry approved engineered welding procedures.” Based out of Parksville, British Columbia, Mr. Morrison and his father Joe have been building security gates for local governments and businesses for more than 15 years. The quality of their workmanship speaks for itself. Standing the test of time, one of their original gates has never needed maintenance and continues to open and close as smoothly as it did on the day it was installed. In addition to stopping vehicles, Morrison Equipment gates can be built with expanded steel mesh and razor wire to keep pedestrian traffic out of a secure area. Far more difficult to cut than chain link, expanded steel mesh is a standard in high level security. Morrison Equipment specializes in custom security solutions and will build to meet their client’s needs. As part of a commitment to world security Morrison Equipment sells the right to use its designs, including drawings and material specifications, on a price per unit basis.
